Hi Joyce-

2nd cast from my new 760L that I just purchased from you. Largest fresh water bass I ever caught. Wanted to get him back in the water quickly, but we estimate 22”-23”. I used a unique bait my wife made for this guy- strip steak marinated in A-1 & parmesan cheese.

CATFISHIN' CUSTOMER

Although none of our products were in use to catch this beautiful catfish, it was sent to us by one of our newest customers out of Pennsylvania, Vennie.  He is totally into C.P.R. (catch, photograph, release) with all the freshwater and saltwater fish and critters that he catches.  We welcome Vennie to the More Tackle family and hope to establish a long and healthy friendship and business relationship.

To all our other customers, we would love to add your pictures to our blog.  please include a little story about it and let us know if you used any of our products for the catch.

Reconditioned ... Recycled

One way we are trying to keep our earth a little cleaner is by recycling used and broken rods and reels. Now, not all rods and reels are repairable, but most are. Our supplier buys up all the rods and reels that are returned to various retailers that cannot be returned to the manufacturer, for one reason or another.
After accessing the situation of each item, we order parts (if we can) or mix and match the working ones to replace the non-working ones. Doing this lowers the overall amount that winds up in our landfills. These reconditioned reels and rods are as good as new, come with a 30 day warranty, and cost a lot less than buying a brand new one. Of course, they don't come with a box, but who needs one. That's just another thing we eliminate from our trash.

So the next time you are thinking about adding another reel or rod to your fishing arsenal, think "recycled."
Helping to keep our world green (land) and blue (water).

UPDATES

We are going to restart with the updates on the blog.  It makes more sense to announce new additions to the More Tackle website on the blog then it does to send emails out to all our current and potential customers.  An email will go out to everyone announcing this change, along with adding this information to the website.

From now on, check on the blog to find out what new products have been added to the website, www.moretackle.com.  We will make the updates every time anything is added, no matter how many or how few.

Thank you for your understanding and your patronage.

Bulk Buying

Buying in bulk is not just for companies. Individual anglers should consider this if they fish a lot ... or if they have trouble finding what they want to use to fish with.

There are several advantages:

1) You save money per item when buying in bulk;

2) You are less likely to run out at a crucial time, such as right before a tournament or while on vacation somewhere remote;
3) You would have a good stock of an item you really like, knowing it will probably be discontinued and you may never be able to find it again.
That last reason is a biggie. Have you ever noticed that when you find something that you really like that, most likely, it gets discontinued? Usually right before you are ready to go out and buy a whole bunch of them. How does that happen? You liked it, so why didn't others? Well, others probably did, too ... just not enough to keep the manufacturer producing them.

That's where we come in. Once an item has been discontinued, retail brick and mortar stores try to clearance them. If they don't sell after a certain period of time, they pull those items from their shelves and sell them for pennies on the dollar to big clearance houses/wholesalers. We then put them for sale in our online outlet store, passing the savings on to the consumer that wished he had purchased more in the beginning - YOU!
Of course, you don't have to buy in bulk ... it's just an option. This was initially offered for dealers, etc. We also offer items individually so you can try it first, if you like. Just don't wait too long after trying something if you like it. Our supplies are limited and, in more instances than not, once they are gone, they gone for good.

Also, that is why it is a good idea to have your email address added to our mailing list so we can let you know what's been added to the site on a regular basis (right now, monthly ... as we grow it may turn into a weekly update). Send your email address to info@moretackle.com to be added.

Keep your line wet, your hook sharp, & your live well full,
More Tackle

Another Update

Greetings!

It's time for another update newsletter. October steadily increased in sales, thanks to a lot of new customers, plus we have had some repeat customers, too. We've had orders from all over the country, and now we've become international with our first order from the United Kingdom!

We will continue to build up the quantity of products for you to choose from but, as stated before, it is time consuming because we research the internet to make sure that we are giving you the best deal. But, if there is anything in particular that is a favorite of yours, or something you have been looking for, either on our site or others, please email us at info@moretackle.com and let us know what you would like to see available.

The rod building department is finally complete! Also, we have just recently added a "Used" department. These items are used and in good working order, but we cannot offer any warranty on used items. More items will be added this month.

Below you will see the items that have been added last month, at least I think I got them all. We should have more items this month since the rod components are finished.

Product Additions:

Mister Twister fillet knife
Flambeau soft-sided tackle packs (green and "cure pink")
Rapala stainless steel pliers
Okuma Avenger spinning reels - AV-20, AV40 & AV65
HT Enterprises heavy duty minnow net
Penn 209M Levelwind trolling reel
Penn 103CS spinning reel
Penn 9M Levelwind trolling reel
Penn Spinfisher 430SS spinning reel
Heddon Teeny Torpedo in 7 colors
Thermacell Mosquito Repellant & Refills

Thank you for all of your suggestions, we are still having growing pains but, with our customers' help, we hope to grow into something any parent would be proud of.

Periodic Update

It's time for an update. August was surprisingly busy. We've had orders from all over the country, from Washington and Colorado to Florida and up to New York, Maryland, and Maine (19 states in all). I guess it's true when they say that good news travels fast.

I want to thank all of our new customers for their patience as we work out the kinks that every new business goes through. It's been a learning experience, to say the least.
We are trying to build up the quantity of products for you to choose from, but it takes a lot of time to add them to the site. Plus, we have so many to pick from that we could use your help in knowing what items you are looking for. So, if there is anything in particular that is a favorite of yours, or something you have been looking for, either on our site or others, please email us at info@moretackle.com and let us know what you would like to see available.
Below you will see most of the items that have been added this month. I say "most" because there were times that I forgot to add them to our newsletter draft, so there are more goodies than what is listed here. Guess you'll just have to look around to find all of them. Sorry about that!

Burned Biscuits

I know this doesn't have anything to do with tackle, but I just thought it was a good story.

When I was a wee ''tike'', my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits.  And I'll never forget what he said: "Baby, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

You know, life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults and choosing to celebrate each other's differences is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

More Tackle - the Angler's Outlet

Our new online tackle outlet store, More Tackle, is now up and running. So far we have added over 400 products, some of which cannot be found anywhere else. Our specialty is providing both freshwater and saltwater anglers with some of the tackle and boating products that they have come to love, but can no longer find because of being discontinued or no longer stocked in their favorite online or brick and mortar stores.

Have you ever purchased something that is new on the market, probably only one so you could try it first to determine whether or not you liked it and would want to invest any more of your hard earned money on it? Well, that is what most people do. But the problem is this ... if most of the people who try something don't go back and buy more of it, then either the manufacturers quit making it, the distributors quit offering it, or the individual stores quit stocking it. All because not enough of the consumers liked it enough to create significant purchasing power. It doesn't mean that it wasn't a good product ... just that it wasn't popular enough to sell to a majority.

But what happens to all those items that were manufactured but didn't sell out completely? They are bought up by companies such as Overstock.com, Big Lots, and other various outlet stores. So, why not an outlet store specifically for fishing tackle? That's exactly what More Tackle is.

Now, not all of our products have been discontinued, but the vast majority of them have. You might find them at other outlets, other tackle stores, even on Ebay. But it's not likely that you will find a better price that at More Tackle. We are making our best effort to bring you the lowest prices available anywhere and, if you can find it somewhere else for a lower price, we suggest that you first investigate to determine if it is legitimately what they claim it to be. Then, if it pans out to be legitimate, contact us to see if there are immediate plans to clearance that item and, if so, we will do our best to beat whatever price you find upon our verification.

In addition to all of the new items we will be offering, we will be listing reconditioned rods and reels. All reconditioned items will carry a 30-day warranty. Once you pay to ship the item back to us with your receipt, we will repair it at no charge, including shipping.

There will be additions to our product line periodically, with updates to appear on this blog. That way you, as either an existing customer or potential customer, would not need to search the entire site to find what has been newly added. We will provide links that will send you directly to the items you may be interested in.

Our next big addition to the site will be an entire section dedicated to building your own rods. Be patient, as this will probably take some time to enter and upload. But it should be worth it. Imagine, having a one-of-a-kind rod built specifically to your personal likes and dislikes. The fish just won't have a chance!

We hope your like this new tackle shopping experience and we look forward to your comments and suggestions. Remember, this store has been brought to you by a fishing family, and we understand what it means to find that special lure that caught the lunker. So, keep your line wet, your hooks sharp, and your livewell full.
